Its been awhile since I have posted last. I have just finished a commisioned piece. Someone asked for a urn for there pets ashes. .They wanted to copy the style of a previous box that I had made, but with a special Celtic knot that had personal meaning for them . They wanted the entire box of bog oak.

It is made of bog oak ,with live edges. This wood is thousands of years old. This is the natural color of the wood, after it had been buried for thousands of years underground.

It is finished in clear danish oil and wax. It measures 6” x 6” x 2.5”

What a beautiful urn! The bog oak is gorgeous and the heart/Celtic knot makes this a one of a kind. They should be very pleased with this.

Wow, I bet that took some doing! Is the Celtic knot carved separately and ten glue/attached to the urn top? IF not, you sure did a magnificent job making the spaces flat!

I just bought a piece of 5400 year old wood from a Russian bog.
Where did you get yours? I would like to work with a bigger piece.
The Celtic Knot is REALLY well done.
