Here is a simple chest built for one of the guys at work, the construction was basic joinery and the wood is birch and popular with a red mahogany and dark walnut stain mixture finished with a wiped spar varnish finish. I cut all the cove moldings on the table saw and there is a sliding shelf inside.

This is a very nice chest and you did a good job with the construction and finish. I like the onlay on the lid. It adds visual interest to the chest.

Nice chest. I like the carving on top and the panels in front give it a detailed look.
