A buddy at work commissioned me to make a picture frame to hold his son’s picture. Made of walnut. Half lap joinery with a simple bevel for the decorative touch. I took the stand off of a cheap-o frame from the dollar store. Hammered it into the 1/8” plywood back. Works just fine. Finished with semi-gloss spray lacquer. Thanks for looking!

Nice frame, Dan!.
I like to use other pieces in my projects if they work. I have found a lot of cheap clip boards at flea markets, etc and plan to make some real neat ones when I get to doing inlays pretty good. I just use the top clip off the cheap ones!. You can’t buy the clip for what I get the boards for-25 cents or free!!

Thanks, Jim. I saw the clipboard pieces you can get from Lee Valley (I think) a while back. You are certainly right; buying the cheap-o’s to just repurpose one part can be cheaper than buying the kit. I’m all about repurposing to save a buck!
