Had some scrap pieces lying around & wanted to make something fast but useable to take to my show today. Made out of Poplar, heartwood pine & black walnut. I left the saw marks on top because I thought it just made a neat design. Resembles a turtle shell.

I agree – the top looks like it was by design. Are you planning to finish this? Asking because I want to know how you would preserve the pattern.

I put finish on this type of wood before & the bad thing about it that it turns the green too dark and ruins the look. Does anyone know what I could put on it but not change the color?
