Hello LJ’s, this is my latest made from Birdeye Maple, Rosewood and Tiger Maple. Finish off with Danish Oil and a French Polish. The Rosewood is what really set this one off, so rich in color making the eye’s of the maple standout. Thanks for viewing your friend in woodworking Blkcherry

wilson, let me be the first to say, WOW, that is just gorgeous. you are correct that the tone of the rosewood brings out the color of the birdseyes. i also like the pyramid-like shape. well done!

what a great looking box and some mitey fine wood combinations…!
how do you get the top to open? Do you press down on the back side of the pin hinge?

What a beauty, Wilson! A new shape…the top looks like a faceted jewel…., and the wood combo is spectacular…..you nailed it.

Like the complimentary angles of the box and lid. Would be interested in seeing the inside. Don

Very nice Wilson.
You do such fine work.
You need to do a blog on your french polishing technique.

This one exceeds your usual high standards. The rosewood is nice but I love the birdseye maple figure. You are another boxmaker that I know who built it as soon as I saw it.
