Andon made of cypress (oh how I love cypress). All the shoji panels are removable. Done mostly with hand tools. Still needs to be hung in the kitchen after I get the lights wired. Lots of fun, probably 20ish hours on it.
Thanks. Yes the hand planes got a workout. Much traditional Japanese woodwork is unfinished, and I really like that. Now that I look at the pics though, I can see some glue squeeze-out. Cameras always seem to show the things you didn't catch!
