Decided to try something new during my Labor Day holiday.
This is my first attemp at turning a Sea Urching Ornament. The upper and lower pieces are turned from Bloodwood.
This is going to take a little more practice to turn the spindles more narrow.
Thanks for looking.

Is this a tree ornament? This is a new family heirloom!

It is very light weight. It probabaly will be a tree ornament.

Yep, that’s exactly the type of ornament your grand kids will be unwrapping every year and hanging on the tree. They’ll tell their kids and grand kids about you and talk about how you made beautiful things by hand.
That’s exactly what we do every Christmas.

What a wonderful idea. I collect unusual tree ornaments and while I have many shell based pieces I do not have anything urchin oriented. This is very nice.
