Box Elder Fun

Amazing color in the box elder. Whatt does it smell like ? Sounds rather unpleasant.

The smell reminds me of soured milk. Fortunately, the smell does not last long after working with the wood.

The look is worth the short discomfort of the smell.

yea i have always enjoyed the beauty of this wood, and ive had wood here that smells like , well, you dont enjoy it ..lol…but yep the beauty is always worth it, you did a great job, and someone will shave with some mighty fine tools…im in a no shave mode until next spring..so i wont see a razor for some time…or a barber….....im in grizz mode…glad to see your getting some shop time…grizz

Hey Grizz, hope you’re doing well.

This is actually a makeup brush, not a shaving brush. I have some badger hair knots for shaving brushes, but thought this wood better for the ladies.

TruBlu like the looks of the Box Elder. I live in Nebraska we have some Box Elder but not that much of the flame look. thank you
