NOT Too Hot to Handle!!!

I totally stole this idea from JoeCline!!! (get it, stolen = Hot) I just hope he is OK with that.

There have been a few of these “Oven Pusher/Pullers” recently & I felt it wood be a fitting gift for some good friends. I was going to design (read: over think/engineer) my own, but wanted this completed in less than a year, so I needed to be a copy cat.

I printed the image of Joe’s project and used spray adhesive to attach it to my glued up blank. The blank is two pieces of 1/4” x 2” x 12” red oak, sandwiching a 1/4” x 2” x 12” piece of poplar. I then used my drillpress for the tight inside curves and my little bandsaw for the rest of the cuts. A little time on the OSS and some hand sanding prior to a few coats of paste wax and I have a finished project.

Not really much to look at, but a very useful tool for my “Foodie Friends” (& maybe a home cooked meal for me). Thanks for lookin’ in…...

I’m gonna have to put a couple of these in my booth to try them. Looks like a Christmas stocking stuffer.

An 1980’s style rap tribute to you, Randy…

Too hot to handle, too cold to hold
His name is Randy and he’s in control
They be doin’ woodworking like a bunch of children
Buy only our Randy knows what he’s buildin’
He went out to his shop that’s fully equipped
Made a wooden thingy and then he split
He can use that thing to fight off evil
Try copy his idea? Yo, that’s not legal

Thanks guys,

Dusty,
I did the lamination so as to add some visual interest, that and to bump up the “woodworking” skills involved.

DBoltz,
I too, plan on giving some of these as gifts. Looks like I need to laminate some more blanks, before X-Mas has come & gone!!!
