I would say you accomplished your goal. Great wood and a nice, simple design. The grain in the top is very nice. It could have lined up better with the sides of the box, but overall this is well done.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and so little time!

very nice, I think it lined up welll…. Robert, that might be an otpical illusion caused by the rabbet/dado recess cut around the top. Beautiful wood, including the tray. What was the finish?

Simple can be beautiful as well. If you study George Nakashima, he believed our job as woodworkers was to display the wood in such a way to let it speak for itself. You did a very nice job of that.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

Beautiful wood. It does the project justice. Simple is often the best.

Yes, there is a prominant rabbit around the edge of the top. The angle of the shot makes the design in the top look shifted, but it is not. The inside of the top shows better, I think. Thanks Guys…...................;-J

Very nice. That is one of the enjoyable things about woodworking…taking a really good piece of wood and making it into something mo’ good.

Nice box ! I am surprised at how light in color your claro is. I’m thinking that the claro from California area is like this, compared to that from further north (into Oregon) ? Very nice regardless.
