Here’s another display case. I made this for a guy who used to be with the Blue Angels. It is made of oak, walnut and cherry.

I am always worried about the integrity of projects like this will the small surface areas of each post so I used a staggered dowel…not sure what the technical name is though. I basically glued up the best I could and then clamped up and used the staggered drill bit that came with the dowels and drilled from the top. I wish I had a top veiw picture to show what it looks like but I use maple dowels to offset the cherry top.

From the bottom I have 4 holes that allows access to a screw securing each post. I did this just in case the glass was ever broken so it could easily be replaced.
