I made this a while back for a friend transferring out of the command. It’s made of mapple and sapele.

The mustang is symbolic beause it refers to a former enlisted Sailor who has progressed up the ranks and ultimately has earned a commission. The mindset is that a mustang can be captured and saddle broken but never loses his or her wild spirit. They can also relate to the Sailors on the deckplate because they have walked in their shoes

Very nice Al! I’m sure it is much appreciated. I know I definitely would. Tomorrow I will be commissioned as a Navy LDO and will be called a “Mustang” as well.
