This is a plaque to display a wild turkey tail fan and beard. I made this for a co-worker for a turkey that he harvested during the 2012 Missouri Spring Turkey Season.

It is made from Walnut that I found at a yard sale. The guy had two pieces for a total of approximately seven BF. Each of the pieces had sections that were heavily figured. I got both boards for a total of $15.00.

I am in the process of finishing up a second plaque for myself that I made with the figured section of one of the boards. I will post it when it is finished with the fan and beard mounted to give a better idea of what the plaques are for.

Sweet deal on the walnut. Never heard of a turkey fan (plaque) before. It will be interesting to see your next post.

Yeah, me too… haven’t heard of it but look forward to seeing one all finished.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)
