Project Information
this was our family project this summer. we (meaning me) decided we needed a new treehouse/play area in the back. This is what the kids started asking for and i added my 2 cents (aka a fortune …of fun!). it is a 10 ft by 12 ft shed that my 2 girls and i built. mom obtained leftover paint from friends and the kids went to it. i built the shed on the ground so it could be painted safely and then my awesome brother in law came by and helped us lift it onto the posts. we used 4 6×6 posts pressure treated, 4 ft in the ground and 16ft above. there is a matching deck in the middle with the ladder for access to the top. we put a couple of hammocks inside for sleep overs and a small deck on top for viewing pleasure. a zip line is soon to come, about 150 ft long, just for fun. next year there is already plans for future expansion with a small catwalk to a nearby tree. and a tire swing, and a firemans pole, and a rock climbing wall…......
and yes i did finish the railing up top, just didn't take the picture of it. the kids helped me in the building so no not everything is perfect. its sturdy and kid friendly and they are proud of how it turned out. ( if i did it on my own it would still be on the ground and 2 ft of snow on it.)
