Hi made these stocking candy dishes for Christmas . I started early this year because last year things got in the way and I ran out of time. I felt bad on Christmas day and making some more things to give this year too. There made out of hard maple and paduak with 5 coat of polyurethane. I made six of them I was going for the look of real stocking i think it looks pretty close what do you guys think. The maple is for the white on the stocking and padauk is for red part. Thanks for looking

What are there dimensions and how did you glue the two woods together? Will expansion of the woods be an issue?
I do like them and I think they could be something nice to copy for this Christmas.

Smart to start early. Just pains me how fast it’s coming.

Those look great!
Did you use the pattern from Eagle America? How did you like it? I’m about to pull the trigger on a number of their holiday patterns.

Well thanks everyone for looking and yes Keiths i did get the template at eagle America. I like them but i took 3/4 mdf and use the template to make a template if that makes since . I did it for two raise one so if i lift the router up by mistake and hit the sides i don’t have to buy other template just make one the other is for thickness of 3/4 mdf then the 1/4 template. It help with the routing process. Yes Mrhart i dill out the compartment first then routed them out it easier on the router and helps save the bit .
Have your say...
