This is a double-sided Shadow Box, was quite the challenge. Black Walnut & Tung-Oil Finish w/ multiple coats of Paste Wax to finish it off

Nice box. Is the AF EOD pin the same as the Navy EOD pin?

The rank insignia is AF but not sure about the Airborne patch…that’s Army????

Al, I was talking about the pin. Looking at the first picture, the top-most pin above the ribbon rack. The FD patch you see in my picture is from my hometown in Augusta, MI. I am Navy at Dam Neck…until this Friday then I transfer to the USS Ramage in Norfolk.

I do what the customer asks. Yes the recipient was AF, he was supporting an Army unit when he was injured, so wanted their unit patches in his box.

how did you secure the middle (velvet( piece? is it in a dado?

Kivel-the velvet is glued to 1/2” ply. Yes each piece that makes the surrounding frame has a dado in the center to accept the ply. The ply is the same shape that makes up the bomb & each piece is wrapped around
