These bird feeders are really easy to make, and are a really simple to make. You can make a lot of these in a day, and they really show of your woodworking skills. There made out of seven pieces. The roof is made out of two pieces, that have a 45’ bevel so they connect. The sides have 45’ degree cuts, which the two roof pieces rest on. The rails along the bird feeders, keep the bird food in the feeder. And the bottom is tacked in two the sides, I used a brad nailer to tack everything together. You want to put a string in it to hang it to the tree, I haven’t done that yet on mine. Thanks for reading!

They look good – and now I know how you keep those birds in your yard! These for hanging, I suppoose you could put them on a pole? I love having bird feeders in my yard but they squirrels eat most of the seeds and I am better able to control that with a feeder on a pole. Does this kind of feeder attract certain species of birds? I know I have a special feeder for goldfinch because they eat those tiny seeds.

Great looking feeders. There’s a bunch of great birdhouse and feeder ideas here at LJ and now yours is added to the bunch.

Very nice. I have found that the plastic domes really keep squirrels away. Best on a pole.

Yeah, I see squirrels in these feeders all the time. I think I see more squirrels than I do birds!

Yes, my mom really likes these, so I sell some, and keep some. Thanks for the comment!
