It seems like it’s the season for fund raising endeavors at work. In the spirit of donating time and talent in search of treasure, I made a cutting board to raffle off at work to benefit the American Heart Association. It’s pretty cool to walk by and see people waiting to buy a ticket!

Made of maple, mahogany and walnut, the unit is about 13×19x1.5”. Finished with salad bowl finish. I borrowed the hand-hold technique of raising the dado stack up, which worked out very well.

Thanks for looking!

Look at the end of the board you can see where wunderaa made cut outs for griping the board.

Did you clamp it to your fence while raising the dado into it ?

Yes, I’ve got a riser fence that makes that sort of thing fairly easy.

Have your say...
