I have been admiring people’s wooden rings for a while now. The wife even likes them. While in the shop tonight I found a small piece of mahogany and cut it out on the scroll saw. Sanded it to 600, then used notebook paper, then applied oil to it. We will see how long it lasts. It is sitting next to my wedding ring for roundness compatibility.

And I had to throw in the bench dog for a great laugh!

Thanks everyone.

Pretty cool!
Some more pictures would be nice.
So this is a solid piece of wood, then cut out?
Most of the time solid ones do not last long, Bentwood method is strongest but the are harder to do.
The lamination style is pretty strong too.
Nice work thanks for sharing.

I have to agree, I don’t think the dog likes being on the bench.

Yeah she wasn’t too happy. Her sister was on the floor running around.

Great little ring and that has to be the cutest bench dog I have ever seen.
