Storage shed doors

I needed space in the garage and was advised by the CEO of the house to build a shed in the backyard after we looked at a few premade sheds. I had help with the shed from someone who knew what they were doing (always good) and built the doors myself. I had seen an article in Fine Homebuilding where they made carriage doors for a shop and thought they looked good. A bit of modification to the plans, so long June and I had doors. African mahogany for the rails, stiles and sash. The panels are painted fibre cement siding. Then BIG hinges cause they weigh a lot. And lots of coats of spar urethane to preserve them, hopefully until I don’t care anymore.

Wow! Way cool shed made to look like a carriage house with those great doors. Your CEO is very proud of you!

Nice doors, and nice shed.

Any takers on how long until nralien finds the shed too small?

nralien – that is not to say it is, that’s to say we all find our shed too small sooner or later. Even the guys who’s sheds could serve as distribution centers for WalMart.

I know my garage shrunk over time. But… any bigger and the city would have gleefully upped my property taxes.

It’s always depressing to see people who have nicer sheds than my house….This is one of those moments. Those doors are awesome. The hinges are a good match too.
