I used to use this as a project when I taught middle school shop. The kids loved it. However we used plastic peanut butter jars. You can get a small stash or a jumbo jar. Kids just laminated 2pcs 1×2x8 with a 1 1/2 gap between them between 2pcs of 1/4 8×8 luan. Then we made another 1×2 with a 3/4” hole that when matched up with the hole in the jar, wa-la, you had candy.
