I got my inspiration from a chuck box originally crafted by Hugh McVeigh that I saw on the enter net. I contacted Hugh and he was a great help on getting me stated. For those of you that do not know what a chuck box is its a box that keeps all you camping cooking utensils organized when your outdoors. My Sons and I built it out of pine that I got from work ,so yeah FREE wood is the way to go, we had to do some work on the rough stock but well worth it in the end. Hope you all like it

Wow, that’s really nice, I like. Great job on the dovetails too. Now you gotta get a chuck wagon, then hit the trail.
Thanks for showing.

That’s awesome. It’s way too organized for my style of camping though. :-)

Very cool.
Couple question.
1. The shelves on the ends that you have your grill sitting on. Where do those fit when you pack up?
2. How/where do you store the legs?

That’s great, wish I’d seen that back when my kids were younger and we camped more. It looks extremely heavy though, how many does it take to move/carry it? Nice work!

I LOVE it… I am using a tote system with a Coleman folding camp kitchen. A proper chuck box like this would make setup / tear down of camp MUCH simpler… Which during deer season is a big plus. By the time the end of the weekends come, most of us want to get home, get cleaned up and rest some before dragging into work the next day…

Great project. Reminds me of Boy Scout projects with my father—enjoy camping with your sons.

Camping in high style, you are the totally organized camper. My idea of a chuck box is – chuck all the stuff in the back of the truck and when we get there it’s ” Didja bring the …. and where is the …..?”
