This bass body was constructed 8 or 9 years ago and never finished. A visitor to the shop spotted it, wanted it, and we worked all that out.
He was as taken by the back, which is lovely, even ribbon mahogany, as well as the startling front.
It’s birdseye pine, something we don’t see much of. Sounds terrific. Why I set it aside years ago I will likely never know, but in the meantime there’s another musical instrument out there laying down the foundation so the stars can shine.
Sorry about the mixed metaphor. But maybe all music is.

That is realy one nice bass Lee. you really do some beautigul work…
I have a project (a entertainment center) I started a few years ago and it is gathering dust. You have motivated me to dust it off and complete it.

Another gorgeous instrument from the master.
Like the unusual bird’s eye pine front and the knots – very cool.
