Fire Hydrant Table

I am a firefighter and at our central station we needed a new dining room table. The County that I work for kept giving us hand me down conference tables. I did some searching on the internet and looked at other stations and seen what they had for a table. I decided to use a real steel fire hydrant for the legs but there was a slight problem. I could only find one matching hydrant. So I decided to make one from 2×12’s. I turned the hydrants on my wood lathe and made the caps as well. The table is 3’x10’ and weights ALOT.

That is a great idea

I think other fire stations may copy it

Very nice. I’m a firefighter to. I’m sure there will be lots of stories shared at the table!

A wonderful idea for a firehouse table! The wooden hydrants are amazing. You hit this one out of the park!
