This truck is like the big dirt contractors are going to. If you like to do woodiworking with a lot of miters and angles, this is the one for you, I never counted them but there are more than enough. Each wheel has 72 slots to make the thread.this truck is made of walnut, soft maple, hard maple, oak, hickory ,and 2 I dont know, because they came from recyeied pallets. In fact the whole truck is recyeled wood ,except the walnut in the wheels. About 3 weeks worth of time went in building it. I made 2 of them, at the same time. Comments apprecieated.

How about those wheels! I made the articulated hauler. Took me a heck-of-a-lot than three weeks and I only made one.
Beautiful job!

Chuck,
I really enjoy looking at these models. Even though they can be viewed as “toys” it takes both skill and talent to build one of these. I have a great deal of respect for the abilities of any woodworker who is able to complete something like this.
Nice post, by the way.

hi chuck, can describe how you made the wheels?

The wheeis are cut out on the drillpress with a hole cutter , then sanded on a jig that makes them truely round, then they are indexed to a ceratin degree then they are cut on the table saw with the blade set3/16 th hi.the gig is set at an angle and they are cut on the index marks. then one side is drilled al the way thru .a 1/4 inch disck is gluded in between the 2 halfs a hub ie made an glued in.wheel is then sanded on the trueing gig on the discked sander.takes a lot of time.good luck
