I must say I am very happy with the outcome of my new garden bench. This was probably the funnest build I have had in my short woodworking hobby. The wood was found in a big pile of lumber. At first I was planning on building a live edge table, but then changed my mind and decided to spruce up the front flower beds by making a live edge bench. The wood is oak. Here are some final shots of the finished project. For my of the build along photos visit my Facebook Page.

Quite nice. Interesting.

Nice. I like the joinery you used. I’ve made a few similar, but nothing just like it. I always put the flat side up. I never thought to flip it over. Very clever.

This is a nice piece with a lot of soul in it. It’s never always so easy to work with oak either. Very creative and looks like you had fun making it, can’t get better than that. Thanks for sharing it.

All the best,

Joe

Nice bench you got from that pile. I believe there are a few more projects in that pile !

Good job.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I do believe there might be a few more benches in there. I’d like to think of something else to make along with the bench too.
