I was looking for something to build for my daughter in N. Y. and came across this cart online. (www.this oldhouse.com/toh/how-to/overview/0,,20386160,00.html) I changed the plans a little to include the uses of dados and half lapped joints. It is made of red western cedar (that’s what it said.) with a teak oil finish. The top tray is removable, for serving. It can be use as a serving cart on the patio or outdoor plant display cart.
The problem with this project is once you finish one, 3 more people are now looking for one. The wife, neighbor and sister. Well I got something to do next Saturday…

I can understand why everyone else wants one – a handsome and useful cart! I will say, if you want to use it as an outdoor plant display, you might want to beef up those wheels a little. But for bringing drinks out to the patio, it is perfect (that is what i would use it for)

Just call me Norm…
The wheels are 3/4 ply with 3/8 bolts into one and one half wood material. not worry about the weight, just getting wet and delaminating.
Now i have to make one for the shop…
Thank you all for the feed back.
