Using “self closing” drawers for safety; I could see this as a great place for a stash.

I love attempting to use space wisely; (I’m not always so successful). This is a great idea, but I’d better wait on ripping out the stairs until at least a few of my other projects are completed!
Is there more than one drawer? I wondered if I saw a tab on the step above, too.
