This was my first woodworking project. I based it off of a picture of a plate rack that my wife found on Martha Stewart’s website but we used it for a book shelf in our baby’s bedroom. The room is too small for a traditional bookcase and this shelf can hold almost as many books and it only sticks out about 4”. I built it from pine 1” x 6” with maple dowels and then stained it with a miniwax stain (I forget the colour). To get the rounded corners on the top of the uprights I clamped them together and then used a jigsaw to make the cut in one pass. I then sanded them together so they are identical. Thanks for looking.
