Another quick project for the local gymnastics fans…
This one is made from recycled 2×3 SPF and 3/4” dowels…
I used pegged lap joints at the connections, and though I contemplated adding cross bracing, these came out very rigid.
Let the games begin!

Well I made a balance beam and now the uneven bars…. I suspect that the next request will be a vault.
One intersting tidbit we learned on this project is that the horizontal distance between the bars is not specified as a fixed distance, but rather a range. I guess they adjust them to fit the gymnast height. Who knew?
I’m happy to crank out these little requests and see our girls play with dolls (even our soon to be 7th grader still does so with her little sister). Girls grow up way to fast these days, and don’t get to enjoy just being kids nearly long enough.
