This is a butter knife design I saw on a Japanese woodworking book. I decided to make one out of the scrap maple I have.

I chiseled out the shape, and planed the knife blade. I didn’t do any measurements. What guides me was my eyes and touches of my hands. It took me about an hour to make. It’s comfortable to hold. Easy to use.

I’ll finish it with 2 coats of mineral oil, plus 2 coats of home-made beeswax.

Well, another one for the bucket list. Nice job.

wooden buter knives are all over the place near where my brother lives in Sweden. They are nice to use.

Ain’t never seen no wooden butter knife before, but I like it. Great job!!
As Monte said, another one for my bucket list. As a matter of fact, think I’ll make a few today to give as presents.
Thanks for the idea.
Have a good’un
