White Oak slab I found in the woods near a minor timbering operation. Made 5 pegs, 3/4” to glue into 5 slightly angled holes in the slab. I let the slab dry (slowly) a little over one year. No cracks yet!! I’m going to let it acclimate to my house then slather it in shellac.

Flutes, I own a native american one an love playing it. I’ve often thought of making one too. Any way to get started that’s recommended?
