This is a little shelf that I built for the top of our stairs where we come in. We (my wife) needed something there to hang her “stuff” on. It’s made from cherry baseboards that my wife’s brother brought me. While it’s not by any means the most technically correct thing I have ever built it serves the purpose. The new thing for me was using oil modified poly that I sprayed on. I have been looking for a better clear coat than Varathane and Polycrylic. I think I’ll stick with it for a while.
-- When questioned about using glue on a garbage bin I responded, "Wood working is about good technique and lots of glue........I have the glue part down."

Thats great that you were able to repurpose the baseboards. Keeps down on waste! Looks very nice and functional.
Have your say...
