Flute number 16 is an over-under double barrel Drone. It plays a constant G from the side with no finger holes. The way a flute is tuned (this one is G-Pentatonic) the fundamental note ‘goes with’ all the melody notes from the side with the finger holes. Strange, hauntingly beautiful sounds but at a cost of blowing twice as much air. This drone is cherry on top and bottom with a 1/4” walnut wall between the chambers. It is finished with multiple coats of hand rubbed tung oil on the outside and shellac on the inside.
