Made from Figure Maple and Walnut. The design is my own. The Dove tails i cut on the table saw, then finished them with the chisel. The finish in tung oil and lacquer.

Absolutely beautiful.. very well done, I have always had a soft spot for maple and walnut together. I cant think of a better combination of woods.. love the figure on the maple,, that must have set ya back a few pennies.. well worth the expense very nice.. keep up the great work.. What are the dimensions by the way.. Papa

Some beautiful wood in this piece. How have you factored in seasonal movement on the top ? If the maple expands or contracts, won’t the walnut frame be unhappy ?

Something about maple and walnut. It always pleases the eye. Beautiful work and I see you went with the slow lowering hinges. Those are a nice addition, especially if you have kids.
