This is my first project, so cut me a little slack please. Since I tore out my old kitchen counter tops, I decided not to waste the perfectly good pieces of counter, so I had to build something to put it on. I used 4X4s for the legs, put inserts on the bottom so I could screw wheels in to them. Then I completed the project with 2X4s, OSB, and some paint to match the decor of my Man Cave. I had hoped to use it for additional counter space for projects, but when my Honey saw it, it became hers. Then I added a power strip and an adjustable desk lamp.

Nice first build bud!! Stay with it I am also a newbie myself. Got interested in woodworking about 6 months ago after watching a ”WoodWorking For Mere Mortals” video. Since then I have been acquiring tools and doing little projects in my spare time. Build yourself another one since the misses took this one. A solid core door is pretty cheap find thats what I use on my saw horses outside.

Great job and way to go! Being green is always good and keeping the Honey happy is the quickest way to more tools LOL

Never cut your self short. We are all learning as we go. Some are new some not. 99.9% of the mmebers on here will help you anyway they can. The great thing about this web site is we try and help each other grow and become better woodworkers. so never worry, I have been on here for a while now, you’ll love it here trust me.

I really enjoy that you painted the lower half of the bench. Painting is a great way to break things up. Check out this web site Wendel does awesome stuff

Thanks to all of you for being so kind! After retiring from the Army and finally getting a Man Cave large enough to accomodate all of the new tools that I think I might need, I am looking forward to many more projects in the future. This seems to be a great place to get advice and ideas!
