I know others here have made mugs. But for me, Danal’s are the ones that made me put them on my bucket list. I would probably never do the carving as it would probably look like 1st grade scratching. I still need to smooth edges out more. I did use epoxy coating inside and poly on the outside. If I were to make more I would probably just use epoxy coating on all of it. There was one more small mug, but it fell victim to an experiment. I used Oak, Ash and Cherry for the mugs. The handles are Maple.

Side note, no Roger I did not test each individual mug.

Thanks for looking

Awesome mugs Monte!! I think I see the bottom glued on and that got me thinking…. Wonder if you could cut your 8 sections with a 1/8 kerf, say 1/4 inch from the bottom, and mill a bottom piece to fit in the kerf and put it together all at once as many of us do with boxes? I like the handles….a handle makes a mug.

Nice job Monty. This gives me inspiration to try one myself. What glue did you use? And was it expected to help with keeping it water-tight or was that the sole responsibility of the Epoxy?

Testing a mug I would not have a problem with. Testing a Spitoon I would.
