Knitting Sock Blocker

Project by grovemadman posted 586 days ago 407 views 0 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

this thing is called a sock blocker. It it made to shape a sock after it has been knitted. Once again pretty simple to make. I resawed a board on the bandsaw and then marked the shape and cut it out. drilled three breather holes in it. Sanded it up and finished it with a bit of Watco golden oak and tongue oil. (mostly tongue oil) The wood is plain old pine.

My sister wanted me to make her some of these. I had no idea what they were… Thise look nice. the finish looks smooth as glass – probably a good idea so it doesn’t snag the yarn eh?

Looks good, but I’m sure glad you told us what it was.

This is another nice post and I agree that Mike and Charlie in that I would have been clueless.

Thanks for the post and thanks for not keeping us in suspense about what it was. :)
