This is a Basswood carving of a Gold Finch. It was carved and painted with the guidence of a Workbench Project by Victor Paroyan. I changed the habitat to maple leaves using copper wire, painted leaves cut from aluminum flashing and a slice of unidentified wood. I hope I was able to do the project justice. Thanks for looking and coments. Tom

Nice looking carving…I love finches! I’d like to have an aviary full of those little peepers, but my wife hates ‘em for the mess they make. Maybe if I carved a bunch.

Beautifully done. The carving and color are great.
I enjoy the creative means of making leaves and the base.

very real looking Gold Finch, Tom. I wonder how it would get along with my Cockatiels :-D

Great work, Tom. You look a bit like Dad in your picture. He would be proud!
