Welcome to LJ’s. You’re doing nice work. Sometimes a project calls for paint. I try not to, but if that’s what the customer wants then so be it.

Very cool!! So, does the fireplace sit above the (cabinets?) on the floor there? I really like that!

Hi Chrisstef,
Paint was the choice of the client. Everybody who has been in shop and I said “It’ll look nice when its painted” gasped and said “you’re Joking”
Have faith I am sure the paint will look nice.
Are wives ever pleased ???

Jaysonic,
The fireplace is positioned between the 2 pieces with the left one being scribed to the wall and the right one being scribed around a column.
Fitting them will be a bit of a mission but if it was easy we wouldn’t enjoy it. Would we ?
Thanks to everybody for their kind words. I will enjoy talking you guys.

Nice Project. What type of paint are you using? I am sure it will be a great looking piece when done.

hi chip.
They will be spray painted using pre-cat nitro cellulose paint. color RAL9010 white.
I think they will look pretty good. Painted furniture often creates shadows from the overhangs and mouldings which create different tones and shades that will add interest and allow the features to show through.
Sometimes because of busy grains and figure wood can mask detail.
many thanks,
toolspud.
