This is a headboard that I built for a customer that had been previously discontinued from Pottery Barn. The customer bought the platform with the intention of coming back to get the headboard at a later date. It was no longer available.
They contacted me and I came up with a similar design. I even traveled to my local Pottery Barn store to get a sample color. Notice one of the picture above with the sample in front of the door.
It is basically a mini wall unit with bookcase on the sides. The headboard panels is just a flat panel great for leaning back to read it bed. I added a couple electrical strips to each bookcase to cell phones and other electrical items.

Nice work. Just curious, what finish did you use? Paint or laquer?

I used a lacquer that was matched to the sample.
