My wife had been strongly suggesting (nagging) me for some time to clean up the mess on an old cart between the two freezers in our garage/woodworking shop. As you can see in the before and after pictures, it was a messy catch-all place to lay things down.
About a month ago I went to Home Depot and bought enough MDF sheet goods to build a shop desk. While I was at it I decided to add drawer glides for file cabinet drawers too.
The carcass is made out of MDF and some scraps of plywood that was left over from other projects, so I really wasn’t out that much money.
I added some under-cabinet lights and did a little wiring to get a power source on the desk top. This was probably the trickiest part of the project.
I now have the mess all cleaned up and have all of my woodworking magazines, power tool warranties and manuals filed so I can get to them in an instant. I don’t think I’ve ever been this organized.
