That’s a mighty nice lion. It reminds me of the one from Telletubbies. Inlaid too!
Your poplar looks like mahogany, no mean trick.

yeah the poplar was quite a nightmare to get it the way i wanted. would have been much easier just to get walnut or mahogany in the first place. lesson learned for sure. the lion is something i came up with to match some of the lions in my sons nursery decorations. the cool thing about this project is it gave me reason to buy a dremel and a wood burning tool :)
