This small table was built of figured maple veneer and pommele sapele veneer and a little solid sapele and maple. The curve was cut using an MDF pattern and pattern cutting bit. The curved apron was made of veneer over bending ply and vacuum pressed. I was going to put a drawer in the apron, but though it would be too unbalanced when you pulled the drawer out. (Plus it was going to be really hard to fit.) No excuse, just got a little lazy. I try again with a drawer. See more at alancarterstudio.com.

Alan – Thanks for posting these projects on LJocks. I visited your website when you first joined up here several months ago, and I really like your work.
Is the move to Seattle still in the plans?

Nice piece. The color contrasts are great. When you do veneer to you glue and vacuum? I’ve only worked with iron on veneer striping so I have very limited experience.
