Cradle for my neighbors

Decided to design and build a cradle when I found out my neighbors were pregnant. The baby arrived a month early, so I had a little scramble to finish it up, but was able to deliver the finished cradle 10 days after arrival. The circle motif in the ends and on the rockers was an afterthought, designed as a way to be able to pick up the cradle without the obvious looking oblong tool box handle hole, I carried the design to the rockers just for ornamentation. The last photo shows an stained and unfinished spot on the plywood bottom of the cradle. The writing is the name and birthdate of the cradles’ first user, with room for many more.

Yes, it is ash, it was from a tree taken down in my fathers yard some years ago. It has been sitting stickered in his garage for at least 5 years. I traded some labor for the wood.

Great looking cradle. I like the circle detail on the sides and rockers.
