I like the grain in the raised panel , very nice dovetails , and the little Maple box looks perfect : )
Hard to tell from the pics if the detail near the top is an inlay or a dentil moulding , but it seems to take away from the beautiful ribbon effect of the Mahogany in the piece. You have a lot going on between the top of the door rail , the banding surrounding the door , the moulding(?) , and then the profile on the top , with no separation of details to appreciate. I could appreciate the banding around the door more if the piece were plain , but you’ve added / emphasized straight lines into an otherwise highly figured project. The base and top appear out of scale with the rest of the piece , at least in the photos.
May just be the photography / lighting though…have you considered having professional photos taken instead of using your cell phone ?
Also , when photographing clocks , it is nice to see both hands separated (a) to see the details in the hands , and (b) so it doesn’t appear to be missing one of the hands. : )
The clock face is screaming for more details and / or to be slightly larger and perhaps toned down from WHITE to an antique / off white or cream color to allow the Mahogany to be the star of the show.
I can appreciate all of the hard work that went in to the extra details , but sometimes the wood likes to speak for itself….No offense intended , JMHO : )
Keep up the good work !
