Made out of cedar on the bandsaw :)
Ive made several of these out of poplar, cedar, and walnut.

With the softer woods the antlers are pretty fragile. Antlers are stonger with harder woods, however it usually costs me a bandsaw blade, even if i go slow. I admit I buy cheap 1/8” blades from Lowes. Anyone have any recommendations on better blades?

thanks !!

Good looking deer ! How big is it ? Most of these I have seen were done on a scroll saw.

BTW, I buy Lenox bandsaw blades from Spectrum Supply (Google them). They may have your size in bi-metal, which is radically better that your regular carbon steel blade, well worth the extra cost. For wider blades, I use carbide-tipped, expensive but actually cheaper in the long run.

Have you made any from Tiger Maple ?
6” is quite large compared to the others I’ve seen…almost big enough to be a pet ! LOL

Have your say...
