I’ve been thinking about building an adirondack chair for some time and having seen one of these made by deeman (http://lumberjocks.com/projects/65447) I decided that was the type I’d build.
As hardwood was out of my price range it had to be out of pine (not ideal for oudoor furniture, I know). The finish was one coat 1/3 tung oil 1/3 outdoor varnish 1/3 mineral spirits followed by 4 coats of a 50/50 mix of tung oil and outdoor varnish. There are also rubber feet fitted to keep the endgrain off the ground.

Awesome job Simon! This same project is 3 or 4 down on my list. Great job! Keep up the good work! I’m FAR from having any kind of expert opinions, but I happen to love pine, and I think it will hold up nicely!
