floating TV shelf

This is a floating shelf for a tv I made, its maple stained espresso with three coats of lacquer, something about floating shelves always makes me look at them in awe… they just look cool lol.

Looks nice! It is similar to the one I made a couple years ago. Mine had three shelves interconnected though and I attached the tv to the wall.

Hey Grizz, I was lucky enough with this one to have a couple of studs to attach it to.

I have a question. I want to make one of these but I want to use the black laminate shelves you can buy at hardware stores. The question is, how can I attach the short sides, to the top & bottom shelves without having any holes on the top? Thank you for your time!
