I was wanting to make sure that my table saw blade was square to my tracks, though all I had was a metal ruler and a digital caliper. I can extend the end and zero out the caliper to get the difference between the two. This saved so much frustration rather than having to use a metal rule.

Neat idea. I may have to look into something like that.

Nice solution to an aggravating situation. Woodworkers think outside the box as well as make them.

Sometimes we think too far outside the box when the answer is right next to us in the draw.
Nice job.

Wait. The bottom of that caliper extend out?? Dang, do I feel stoopid. I think I have that caliper (granted, I inherited it from my Dad and haven’t ever used it), but never knew that!

Thanks all!
Yeah I had been really annoyed with having to use my ruler. I traced where the caliper needed room to slide and routed out the excess. So in attempting to get it to stay exactly in one place I routered as close as possible and used a very small wedge. Sorry for the poor pictures, my good camera was dead, so i had to use my old one.
